1.
Boot
Please tap TV Friends’ icon at the Home Screen. If you can’t find it, please
search in an application list.
2.
Title Screen
On the first boot, a dialog which introduces TV Friends will be shown. Please
close the dialog by pressing “OK.”
If you tap “Read End User License Agreement,” EULA screen will be shown. Please
check to “Agree” and press “START” button to continue to the Language Selection
Screen.
If you press “Back,” the application will be quitted.
* At every timing of server connection, the application’s version will be
checked, and Version Up dialog will be shown if the version is old.
* If the EULA is updated, the checkbox will be reset, and you have to agree with the new EULA.
3. Language Selectin Screen
Languages you can select will be shown. Please select preferred
language, then, the Avatar Selection Screen will be shown. Later
on, texts on every screen will be shown in the selected language.
The selected language will be saved, and this screen will be skipped next time.
The language setting can be done anytime, but please be noted that supported TV
channels depend on this language setting.

Information Dialog
Information from administrator will be shown. Please press “OK” to continue to
the Avatar Selection Screen.

Avatar Selection Screen
After you select an avatar image, and press “OK,” you can move to the Room
Selection Screen. If you press “OK” without selecting an avatar image, a dialog
which asks you if you want to select an avatar randomly will be shown. If you
press “Yes,” your avatar will be selected randomly, and you will be moved to
the next screen.
You can use TV Friends without inputting the “Handle Name.” If you don’t input
the “Handle Name,” only your ID like “#B4j4K5” will be shown. If you input the
“Handle Name,” your Handle Name and ID like “LUXALA(#B4j4K5)” will be shown.
The ID will be given automatically, and you cannot change it by yourself unless
you reinstall TV Friends.
Please select an avatar’s gender and an image. As you can choose avatar
position in TV Friends, three different images, left, center, and right are
shown in the “Avatar Images” section.
The selected data will be saved, and this process will be skipped next time.
You can change information input here anytime later.
There are some locked avatars. These avatars can be unlocked by finishing
Twitter authentication and sending a Twitter comment about TV Friends. To
authenticate Twitter, please tap a locked avatar.
Twitter comment confirmation dialog will be shown. If you press “OK,” Twitter
authentication screen will be shown (you may be required to input e-mail
address and password in advance). If you press “Cancel,” twitter authentication
will be canceled.

“Authorize app.”)
If you press “Authorize app,” the comment shown in the previous screen will be
posted to Twitter, and additional avatars will be unlocked.
6.
Room Selection Screen
Depending on a selected language, “Country/Region,” “Area,” “Channel,” and
“Room” will be shown.
In the Channel Selection dialog, “(Hot!)” text will be added to a channel in
which many TV Friends’ comments are sent. To receive channel data from a server
takes time.
Channels are registered depending on TV program table area by area. If you
cannot find a specific channel, please change area, or use search function.
More than one room could be prepared if existing room is fulfilled by many
users. In the Room Selection dialog, number of users in the room will be shown.
Depending on the number, room name will be colored. Please check the color when
you choose a room.
Green: less than 150 people
Yellow: less than 200 people
Red: 200 people and more
After you select all four selections, and press “OK,” you will be moved to the
Chat Room screen. “Country/Region” and “Area” selection will be saved, and from
the next time, they are input from the first. “Channel” and “Room” have to be selected every time.
If you press “Search” button, Room Search dialog will be shown.
If you press text input field, a software keyboard will be shown. Please input
search text, and press “OK.” Search Result dialog will be shown.
If you select a room, you can enter a chat room.

Chat Room Screen
(1)Room Name
(2)Ticker Comment
A comment which can be set by a user, and channel names which are
“Hot” will be shown. The way to set user comment is described later.

A Twitter comment will be received as soon as the comment is posted.
Twitter Comments will be shown one by one at every second.
If both TV Friends’ and Twitter comments are stocked, older comment
will be shown first. If more than 100 Twitter comments are stocked, older
comments will be deleted, so that total comment won’t be more than 100.

Screen
The Vote Result screen is described later.
(8)Chat Comment
User name, user id, a chat comment, and sent time will be shown. A
yellow dialog means TV Friends’ comment, and a blue one means Twitter comment.
In auto scroll mode, TV Friends’ comments will be received in every
30 sec, and will be displayed one by one. In manual
scroll mode, if you swipe and scroll the screen to the bottom (i.e. show the
whole shape of a triangle under “Scroll to the end to load the next data”
text), the nest comments will be received and displayed. This manual receiving
action is possible even in auto scroll mode.
Comments (chat comments, Twitter
comments, and voting) will be spoken by “Text-To Speech (TTS)” function. Users’
names won’t be spoken for “Voting.” While a comment is spoken, the next comment
won’t be displayed. Please refer “Text-To Speech” setting’s help to know how to
set up TTS.
At most 50 displayed comments can be reviewed by swiping the screen
up and down. As long as the screen is scrolled,
receiving comments will be stopped. If you want to resume to receive the next
comments, please press “Back to the Bottom” button (which is described in (10))
in auto scroll mode. In manual scroll mode, you have to
scroll to the bottom to resume receiving data.
By tapping a comment or a ticker comment, you can add the user who
posted the comment to the Black List, or report the
user to LUXALA.
If you select “Add,” you can add the user to the Black List. Then,
the screen will be updated to eliminate all comments
or a Ticker Comment posted by the user.
You can register at max 50 users to the Black List. If the list
became full, please edit the Black List by selecting “Config” > “Edit Black
List” to delete one or more users from the list. Please refer “Config” help to
learn more about editing the Black List.
If you select “Report,” you can report a
user with the user’s comment and more information to LUXALA. Basing on the
report there is a possibility that the user will be banned from the service.
However, if you report a user who is not an abusive user, there is a
possibility that you will be banned from the service.
You can add Twitter users to the Black List, too. However, the list
is used only in TV Friends. If you don’t want to see a specific user’s comments
even in Twitter application, please consider to delete
the user from your follow list or mute the user in Twitter application.
If you report a Twitter comment,
Twitter will handle the report basing on their rule.
(9)Avatar Image
Avatar image will be shown at the left, the center or the right.
Twitter’s profile thumbnail will be shown at the center.
(10)A Button to Back to the Latest
Comment
If you press this button, scroll position will be the latest
comment’s position. This button will be active if you scroll the screen to
check comment history.

(12)Chat Input Button
Chat Input dialog will be shown.
Twitter ON/OFF button enables/disables sending the same comment to
Twitter, too, when you send TV Friends’ comment. To use this feature, you have to finish Twitter authentication before.
If you tap the comment input area, a software keyboard will be
shown. In this screen, only 44 letters (22 letters for double-length letters) x
3 lines will be shown, but in the Chat Screen, 9 lines will be displayed.
(13)Preset Sound Button
Preset Sound Selection dialog will be shown.
If you select a sound, all users in the same room will listen to the
selected sound.
(14)Voting Button
Preset Button Selection dialog will be shown.
By selecting one of the buttons, you can vote to the selected
button.
After you receive a vote comment, and if you select Vote Result Tab,
you can check the vote result as bar graph.
As long as you open
the Vote Result Tab, new comments won’t be received.
(15)Sticker Button
Not used in this version.
(16)Shop Button
Not used in this version.
(17)Configuration Button
Configuration dialog described below will be shown.

Configuration Dialog
(1)Language
You can go back to the Language Selection screen.
(2)Display
Display setting dialog will be shown.
16:9:
The screen will be displayed in 16:9 resolution. This is an ideal
settings for TV Friends.
Full
Screen: The screen will be displayed in full screen resolution.

mode and Full Screen mode)
To apply the display settings, press
“Apply and Quit” button to quit TV Friends, then reboot TV Friends. From the
next boot, the display setting will be applied.
(3)Sound
You can set TV Friends’ sound volume.
(4)Text-To Speech
Text-To Speech (TTS) setting dialog
will be shown.
On Android, TV Friends uses a voice
(language) and speech speed which is set in “Settings > Language & input
> Text-to-speech output.” Menu names might be slightly different OS’s
version by version.
On iOS, OS’s language and the
language’s default voice will be used in normal speech speed. Please be noted
that a voice in “Settings > Accessibility > Speech” is not used in TV
Friends.
Use
Text-To Speech: You can turn on/off the function.
Volume:
You can set the volume of TTS.
Speak
Names: You can set if you want to hear user names.
Speak
Tweets: You can turn on/off Tweet reading function.
(5)Scroll
Scroll mode
setting dialog will be shown.
Auto:As long as a scroll position is located at the last comment, the
next comments will be loaded in every 30 sec. Please choose this mode if you
want to read comments without manipulating the device.
Manual:In this mode, comments won’t be automatically loaded, therefore, you
have to swipe and scroll the screen to the bottom. Please choose this mode if
you want to read comments at your timing.
In both mode, comments will be shown one by one in every second. If
you want to stop displaying comments, please scroll the screen so that the app
will be History Check mode.
(6)Twitter Cooperation
Twitter Cooperation Setting dialog will be shown.
If you haven’t authenticated Twitter account for TV Friends, “Tweet”
button can be pressed. By finishing the authorization, following features will
be unlocked.
・Import Twitter comments to TV Friends channel by channel.
・When you post TV Friends’ chat comment, you can write the same comment
to Twitter.
・Additional avatars will be unlocked.
After the authentication, a Twitter comment which recommends TV Friends will be
automatically posted.
If you press “Tweet” button, confirmation dialog which tells you what text will
be posted will be shown.
If you agree to send the text, please
press “OK,” then, Twitter authentication screen will be displayed (you may be
required to input e-mail address and password in advance).

If you press “Authorize app,” the comment shown in the previous
screen will be posted to Twitter.
After the comment is sent to Twitter, receiving Twitter comments
with the channel’s hash tag will be imported. Twitter comments will be
displayed as blue dialog. Not to show spam comments, Twitter comments with
“http://” and “https://” won’t be shown. In addition, retweets won’t be
displayed, too. In Android 6.0 and later, Twitter user’s icons won’t be
displayed.
(A comment and a profile thumbnail are hided.)
If you don’t want to display Twitter comments, please choose “Hide”
in Twitter Cooperation dialog’s “Twitter Comment” section.
After you register your Twitter
account, if you open “Twitter Cooperation” dialog again, “Tweet” button is
changed to “Reset.” If you press the button, the current registered Twitter
account will be reset. If you want to register other Twitter account, you need
to reset the registration once.
(7)Text Color
Text Color Selection dialog will be shown. You can change text color
of your chat comment by selecting one of the color.
(8)Avatar
You can go back to Avatar Selection screen. Please choose this menu
when you want to change Handle Name or Avatar Image.
(9)Search
Room Search dialog will be shown.
If you tap text input area, a software keyboard will be shown.
Please input search text and press “OK,” then, search result will be shown.
If you select one of the shown rooms, you can enter the chat room.
The text color’s rule follows Room Selection screen’s rule.
(10)Ticker Comment
In TV Friends, a user can set a Ticker Comment which is prepared
room by room. For example, when you watch a sport program, if you set a Ticker
Comment as “Team A comments at the left. Team B comments at the right,” users
in the room will start commenting at the left and the right. Users can set a
Ticker Comment as a room’s rule like this example.
If you tap text input area, a software keyboard will be shown. After
you input a Ticker Comment, and press “OK,” the Ticker Comment will be sent to
a server. As soon as the server received the comment, the new comment will be
shown with your Handle Name and ID.
However, other users will not receive the new comment immediately.
It will take time to show the latest Ticker Comment at other user’s screen, so,
please input ticker comments as earlier as possible.
If you send an empty Ticker Comment, default comment, “Please input
a ticker comment. (System)”, will be set. You can input at most 78 letters, but
a line feed will be replaced with a white space letter.
(11)Edit Black
List
You can delete
users from the Black List (this case will happen when the list became full). In
TV Friends, users don’t have to input nicknames, or, they can change their
nicknames anytime, therefore, a user signature ID like “(#******)” will be
added to the Black List. If you have added a user from a Twitter comment, in
that case, the user’s name will be registered to the Black List.
Please select users which you want to delete from the Black List,
and press “Delete.”

You can send a report to us when you
find a bad user or a bug.

Help page (this
page) will be shown.
9.
Notice
(1) Notice on Battery and Temperature
During using TV Friends, the device screen will not
sleep, therefore, the device’s battery will be consumed continuously. In
addition, some devices could have high temperature by using the application
very long period. Please be careful when you use TV Friends for long time.
(2) Privacy Policy
TV Friends is NOT send/trace Personal Information,
for example, Address, Name, Phone Number, E-Mail Address, Hardware ID of your
smart phone, Credit Card Numbers, and so on.
TV Friends utilize the following outsourced services. Please refer each
